| The Edge: How NOT to Become a Victim ISBN 0-9652672-0-2 By Lee Bachman The Edge is another in the series of Bachman books. It deals specifically with all aspects of environment, internal and external, as it relates to altercations. It starts with a very interesting analysis of predator types. Then Mr. Bachman analyzes how awareness of your external and internal environment can help you avoid dangerous situations. The next chapter takes it to the next level. If you are forced to fight what are you going to hit and why. Then he follows that chapter with the how and with what. He takes the time to describe the various weapons with can create with our natural weapons and then explains the range, nature, function and composition of weapons that can be found in our everyday environment. Finally, he finishes up with a look at the mental processes that people go through when faced with a fight or flight situation. Overall I would recommend this book for any beginner. The sections on predators, how not to become a victim and basic avoidance techniques are eye opening. The final chapter on aspects of defense gives some insight as to the type of internal dialogs that take place when placed in a situation that requires you to use the skills you developed. I think its worth a look. |
